Summer Newman
Summer Newman will bring her hockey skills to Hilbert College in Hamburg, New York. She is a goalie and started playing back when she lived in Minnesota when she was eight. Once she moved back to Montana, she continued to play for a team out of Kalispell: Flathead Fusion. On playing in Kalispell, Newman says, “it had its challenges and lots of late nights”, but she looks forward to continuing her hockey career.
Astin Brown
Astin Brown will attend the University of Montana in Missoula to throw on the Track and Field team. Brown started throwing in the 6th grade and has stuck with it ever since. He chose UM because when he visited, he “got to meet all the people and who they were,” which drew him there. Brown is looking forward to the level of intensity and hopes to have a good freshman season.
Samantha Rensvold
Samantha Rensvold will play softball at Spokane Community College in Spokane, Washington. She started playing softball when she was 8 years old. Rensvold chose Spokane Community College “because it’s close enough to home and it gives me the opportunity to get better for the two years I’m there and then possibly move on to a bigger school to play.” She is excited to see how much she improves over the next two years.
Olivia Jore
Olivia Jore will play softball at Spokane Community College in Spokane, Washington. She started in T-ball when she was 3 and never looked back. Jore decided to go after being a pickup player for a tournament in Las Vegas with her teammate, Samantha Rensvold. This tournament led to the Spokane Community College coach recruiting her, and when she went to tour the school, She said, “everything worked out and was a great community, great players, great spot, close enough to home.”
